Hi  My name is Janet Pathak, and I’m a self-taught artist who loves to bring my bright colors and artistic brilliance to life on canvas. Whether I’m sketching or painting with acrylic, I find healing and personal development through my art. I’ve had a love for mixing colors from a young age, and I even earned the honor of best in art class with my ‘ode to Van Gogh.’ For me, my biggest accomplishment is having the ability and privilege to live a simple and creative life, and my passion for art goes beyond just the paintings I create.

For the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to being a nurse, a profession that represents a true act of service. I believe in showing love through service, and before starting a family, I completed several volunteer projects. One of the most memorable experiences was being part of a local medical/surgical team in the foothills of the Himalayas, where we provided health care and treatment to remote villages.

My passions include living a healthy and balanced life that promotes positive emotional, physical, and mental health. I prioritize good sleep, eating nutritious foods, and getting adequate physical exercise. Recently, I’ve found inspiration from two authors: Elizabeth Gilbert, who talks about creative living beyond fear, and Tara Brach, who encourages radical acceptance and kindness.

When I’m not in the studio or helping others, I enjoy cooking for my husband, Deepa, and our daughter, Aria. Aria makes me feel like the best cook in the world! I also love discovering new recipes to try in the kitchen, hiking, camping, and reading a good book. Art has helped me process a lot of strong emotions, including fear and anxiety. As a result, I want to share my creative experience with others, hoping that they might find healing through art and painting as well.
